Sydney: Today the Minister for the Environment, The Hon. Greg Hunt MP announced four additional draft Emissions Reduction Fund methods that will provide increased capacity to partake in the $2.5 billion fund, passed through the Senate earlier this month. He made the announcement during his keynote speech on the second day of the CRCLCL Participants Annual Forum.

Today, Professor Peter Newman AO – former NSW Sustainability Commissioner in Sydney and Project Leader for the CRC for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) – said that research is proving that  ‘low’ or ‘no’ carbon living is the future and that Australia is charging ahead in cementing ways to make the built environment sustainable.

The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC)* and Australia’s leading organisation working towards building sustainable communities – the Cooperative Research Centre for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) – have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to take a global step  towards defining ‘low’ to ‘no’ carbon cities in our world.
