Curtin University has been awarded a $500,000 grant by the CRC for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) to set up a node of excellence in research into the low carbon built environment focusing on its Greater Curtin Master Plan.

Speaking at Green Cities 2015 in Melbourne on 17 March 2015, Professor Loftness of Carnegie Mellon University, will call on research that demonstrates green building design and good Indoor Environment Quality can deliver significant improvements to staff health and wellbeing, which in turn can dramatically improvements to an organisation’s bottom line.

Today, climate change analyst Professor Ross Garnaut was keynote speaker at the ‘Livewell Yarra’ Project launch, the first in a series of ‘Livewell Clusters’ initiated by Curtin University.  The Project will engage members of the Yarra community in a collaborative trial focussed on reducing carbon emissions.

A new board member for the CRC for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) was announced today by Chairman, The Hon Professor Robert Hill AC as Professor Matthew Bailes, currently the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Development) at Swinburne University.

Climate change analyst Professor Ross Garnaut will be the key note speaker at the launch of a low carbon initiative called Livewell Yarra on Thursday, 5 March at 7pm in the Fitzroy Town Hall, 201 Napier Street, Fitzroy, Victoria. This is the first in a series of Livewell Clusters that will assist community members to reduce their carbon emissions. Fiona Armstrong, Founder of the Climate and Health Alliance will also speak at the launch.

The first Adelaide Living Laboratory (ALL) program was launched today (1 December 2014) when the South Australian Government announced a new partnership with the Cooperative Research Centre for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) and the University of South Australia. The Laboratory will be an innovative research hub designed to investigate ways to lower carbon emissions in our built environment.
